Himachal: GST collection increases by 7 percent in June as compared to last year

Shimla. A spokesperson of the Excise and Taxation Department said here today that the monthly GST collection in June 2021 has grown by 7 percent as compared to June 2020. He said that despite several relaxations provided in filing of GST returns due to prevailing pandemic situation, the GST collection in June 2021 stands at Rs. 246 crores as compared to Rs. 230 crores in June 2020. The spokesperson said that it is expected that in coming months the GST collection will further improve as a result of increase in business activities. The department is closely monitoring the taxpayers through various enforcement activities. The effect of deferred filing of GST returns will also be visible in the collections of coming months.
