CM inaugurates and lay foundation stones of 30 developmental projects worth Rs. 124 crore
• Announces opening of Sanskrit College at Shingla and HPSEB Sub Division at Neerath
• CM announces opening of Police Post at Kholighat, Sub Tehsils at Jeuri and Thalli-Chakti, bus stand at Sarahan and Fire post at Jeuri.
Rampur. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 30 developmental projects worth about Rs. 124 crore at Rampur in Rampur Vidhan Sabha area of Shimla district today.
While addressing a mammoth public meeting at ground of Govind Ballabh Pant Government Degree College Rampur, the Chief Minister announced opening of Sanskrit College at Shingla, HPSEB Sub Division at Neerath, Police Post at Kholighat, Sub Tehsils at Jeuri and Thalli-Chakti, bus stand at Sarahan, Fire post at Jeuri. He also announced Rs 10 crore for Tikkar-Khamadi road being constructed under CRF at a cost of Rs. 108 crore. He also announced that Brandli Khad Sungri road would be constructed and maintained under PMGSY-III. He also announced upgradation of three veterinary dispensaries of the area into veterinary hospitals, upgradation of one Primary School of the area into Middle School, and also upgradation of Primary School Rampur to Model School. He said that Jhakhari to Kahrkahan Gaura road would be mettled under NABARD funding by spending Rs. 5.85 crore.
Chief Minister said that the Rampur area was similar to his own area Seraj and has ensured that this area gets priority in the matter of development. He urged the people of Rampur constituency to give opportunity to the BJP to represent the constituency and see the difference. He said that it was strange that despite being represented by the Congress, several panchayats and villages of the area lack road connectivity. He said that despite that since the area was emotionally associated with a tallest leader of the State, the area lacks basic facilities. He said that people must ponder that how long they would keep themselves associated with a particular clan and let the development suffer.
Jai Ram Thakur said that during the biggest pandemic of the century, the Nation was safely and successfully guided by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the Government of Himachal Pradesh also ensured the people stay safe during this testing time. He said that even the Prime Minister has appreciated the steps taken by the State Government in tackling the pandemic and also stood first in cent percent vaccination of first and second dose of vaccine against corona. He said that during the recent visit to the State, the Prime Minister addressed a national level event from Shimla and this event was witnessed by over 17 lakh people of the country virtually. He said that the Prime Minister even had a walk on the Mall as he could not stop himself from ensuring direct contact with the people of the State, which shows his benevolence towards the State and its people. On the other hand, Congress Prime Minister during his visit to the State simply enjoyed a nap in the pleasant weather of Shimla, he equipped.
Chief Minister said that schemes such as HIMCARE, Sahara Yojna, Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna, Mukhya Mantri Swavalamban Yojna, Shagun Yojna have provided a helping hand to every household in need. He said that the social security pension has been enhanced considerably and the age limit for availing old age pension without income limit has been lowered first from 80 years to 70 years and now further reduced to 60 years. He said that an amount of Rs. 1300 crore was being spent on providing social security pension to the needy during the current financial year. Still the Congress leaders were baselessly accusing the State Government for ignoring the weaker sections, he added.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has given special emphasis on women empowerment and their upliftment. He said that the State Government has decided to provide 50 percent concession on fare in HRTC buses from the month of July this year and free power upto 125 units per month. He said that the State Government has also decided that free drinking water would be provided in rural areas of the State. He said that this was not going well with the Congress leaders. He said that the State Government also made a record enhancement in the honorarium of various para workers.
Chief Minister said that the State Government has also made a provision of Rs 25,000 of revolving fund for SHGs of the State. He also appreciated the women folks of the area for being proactive regarding their developmental issues.

The Chief Minister was accorded rousing welcome en-route from Shingla helipad to College ground Rampur, the venue of public meeting. Several social, cultural and political organizations honoured the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that being himself from a humble background, the Chief Minister well understands the developmental aspirations of the common man. He said that several welfare schemes initiated by the Chief Minister during the last four and a half years shows his concern towards developmental demands of the area.
Chairman HIMCOFED Kaul Negi, while welcoming the Chief Minister, thanked him for always being considerate towards the developmental demands of the area. He said that the present tenure of the State Government has proved boon to the people of Rampur Vidhan Sabha area as the area has witnessed unprecedented development during this period. He said that people of the area has full faith in the policies and programmes of the present State Government and would give full support to the BJP in the coming elections. He also detailed developmental demands of the constituency.
Mandal BJP President Bhim Sen Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He also detailed a few developmental demands of the area. He also thanked the Chief Minister for initiating several welfare schemes for the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden.
