Rs. 810 Crore MoUs signed for upcoming Medical Devices Park

As many as 15 MoUs worth Rs. 810 crore were signed with the entrepreneurs for setting up of their units in the upcoming Medical Devices Park at Nalagarh in District Solan. Disclosing this Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the Medical Devices Park   worth Rs. 350 Crore was coming up in the State, wherein the Government of India would provide grant-in aid of Rs. 100 Crore for the development of Common Scientific facilities. He said that this Park would also house Centre of Excellence of CiBiod PGIMER, for which detailed discussion was held with Dr. Varinder Garg, Principal Investigator of Center for Innovation and Bio-Design(CIBioD), PGIMER, Chandigarh.

The department of Industries would be signing an MoU with CiBioD, PGIMER very soon, he added. Chief Minister said that the structure of State Implementing Agency (SIA) has been prepared, which would be instrumental in developing this Park. He further shared that the SIA has already invited bids of consultant for Environment Clearance and Project Management Consultancy. Chief Minister said that the State Government was now actively considering taking a Partner Country for technology and for attracting investment. Investment Outreach for Medical Devices Park would also be organised soon in prominent cities within India and outside, known for high end medical device manufacturing, he added. HPSIDC, Rakesh Kumar Prajapati signed these MoU on behalf of the State Government today at Nalagarh, in district Solan.  The MoUs signed have verticals or products ranging from disposable syringes, cardiac stents, medical catheter, X-ray, EEG, EMG, Spirometer, IVD products, Orthopaedic Implants, Blood Bank Equipment, Oxygen Concentrators, BP monitor, electronic thermometer, audiology products, ICU ventilator, Anaesthesia machine, vestibular product, bio-signal recorder, diagnostic instruments, OT products, ICU bed. Many of these prospective entrepreneurs, who have signed MoUs,

are already operating in Medical devices segments and also contributing towards exports. A delegation of 8 MSME entrepreneurs from Mohali Medical Devices Cluster also evinced interest in setting up unit in this Park. They signed MoUs for different verticals. In today’s meeting, M/s ANG Life Sciences signed an MoU for setting up Nutraceutical unit in Kandrori Industrial area with a proposed investment of ₹ 70 Cr with an employment potential of 300 persons. This will be first of its kind unit in Kandrori Industrial area.
